Suspected Boko Haram female suicide bomber kills 19 in Cameroon
July 26, Maroua: At least 19 people have been killed after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive at a popular night spot in the town of Maroua in northern Cameroon, officials said.
Midjiyawa Bakari, governor of the far northern region of Cameroon, said that authorites were still counting the dead and wounded following Saturday night’s explosion in the Pont Vert district, AP news agency reported.
A local official, who was reportedly at the scene of the attack, told Reuters that the suicide bomber was a woman.
While there was no immediate claim for the responsibility but fighters from Boko Haram have been blamed for scores of attacks in the region this year.
