Six world powers closer to Iran nuclear deal

July 14, Tehran: Officials from six World powers have continued their marathon talks on nuclear talks overnight to finalise an agreement to limit the Iranian nuclear programme.

Foreign ministers from Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United states met in Vienna early on Tuesday morning. Officials from Iran did not attend the meeting. The meeting lasted about an hour.

They were expected to hold another meeting later on Tuesday morning ahead of a planned announcement that would potentially bring to a close an 18-day marathon push to strike an accord.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the European Union’s policy chief Federica Mogherini would read a joint statement on Tuesday morning, the Iranian Students’ News Agency reported.

They are hoping to sign a nuclear deal that will bring sanctions relief in exchange for curbs on Tehran’s atomic programme.
