President Fernandez plans to disband Argentina’s Intelligence Agency 


Jan 27, Buenos Aries: Argentina will soon be dis-banning their intelligence agency. According to President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has announced plans to end the service on Monday.

President Fernandez, while addressing reporters stated that she has drafted a bill to set up a new body and she wants the proposal to be discussed at an urgent session of the Congress. .”I have prepared a bill to reform the intelligence service,” President Fernandez said. According to her the intelligence services had kept much of the same structure they had during the military government, which ended in 1983 and therefore changes are imminent.

This move by the president comes after the mysterious death of prosecutor Alberto Nisman, just  hours before he was due to testify against senior government officials.
