Masked gunmen, kill 19 and injure 22 tourists in Tunisia
March 18, Tunis: Approximately,19 people were killed and 22 injured in a deadly siege on the Bardo museum in the Tunisian capital on Wednesday.
According to reports, Italian, Spanish, Polish and German,Tunisian nationals were killed in the incident. While talking to the press, Tunisia’s prime minister Habib Essid informed that 19 people had been killed during the security operation at a museum in the capital after a deadly hostage siege.
“The attackers killed at least 17 foreign tourists at the National Bardo Museum during Wednesday’s assault before they were killed, PM Essid before adding that 22 had been wounded.He further informed that the security forces shot down two gunmen and were searching the surrounding area for accomplices.
At the time of the attack, deputies in the neighboring parliamentary building were discussing anti-terrorism legislation. The Parliament was evacuated following the attack.
Meanwhile there are reports that suggest that up to 50 people could have been hurt.
