Malaysia sends team to investigate debris on Reunion: MH370

July 30, Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia has sent a team to the French Indian Ocean island to investigate whether wreckage found there could be from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 plane which disappeared in March 2014.

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, which was carrying 239 people on board, among them 153 Chinese and 38 Malaysians.

In a statement on Thursday, Malaysia Airlines said that it was too premature for the airline to speculate the origin of the flaperon found washed up on Reunion Island.

Aviation experts have said the debris looks like a wing component from a 777, known as a flaperon.
