Islamic extremists kill 14 in northern Kenya: Official
July 7, Nairobi: At least 14 people have been killed in an attack by al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab militants in the northern part of Kenya on Tuesday, officials said. Another 11 people were wounded in the attack.
The attack took place in Soko Mbuzi village in Mandera County near the Kenyan and Somal border, regional commissioner Alex Nkoyo said.
The Somali-based militants have killed at least 85 people, all of them non-Muslims, in the last eight months in Mandera County.
