Iraq: Suicide bombers of ISIL target army HQ in Fallujah

May 31, Fallujah: Eight car bombs have detonated near Iraqi army headquarters outside city of Fallujah, killing at least 20 soldiers. Fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) have launched a string of attacks on an the Iraqi army headquarters. 

Al Jazeera’s Imran Khan, reporting from Baghdad, said ISIL suicide bombers detonated eight fortified car bombs near the army’s headquarters on Sunday. 

ISIL has been “learning to exploit” the Iraqi military’s weaknesses.

Fallujah is less than 70km west of Baghdad.
