First ever female supreme court nominees rejected by Afghan court
July 8, Kabul: Afghanistan parliament has failed to garner enough votes to approve the first ever female nominee to the supreme court.
Anisa Rasoli needed 97 votes to have the approval but only received 88 votes. Later the parliament approved.
During the same session, Mohammad Yasuf Halim was approved for the supreme court and Khalilullah Sediq was approved as the governor of the central bank.
