Anti-Islamic extremism march goes ahead in Oslo

Jan 20,Oslo: Despite orders from local officials in Dresden for the cancellation of the weekly march against the Islamization of the West, the march took place.

The group that calls itself Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West (Pegida),has decided to take the streets after Isis jihadists threatened to kill its organizers.“The cancellation in Germany affects all of us,” Norwegian Pegida spokesman Max Hermansen told a news agency.

“It’s tragic that we lose some of our freedom of expression because someone doesn’t like what we say.”

Police said 190 people took part in last Monday’s march in Oslo, with Hermansen hoping for more this time. “I’ll be glad if 250 people come but I’m hoping for 400. We’re ready to go out every Monday for a long time.”
