A Stand for Humanity – Doctor in midst of GAZA crisis
As a responsible journalist when I look around and see my fellow media personnel with a biased and scrummed social point hood, which made me realized the death of humanity at our very hands of democracy.
But as it is said & true to the very fact that there has always been a ray of hope after the darkest hour of the night, which has been shown time over and over again by one of the noblest Norwegian souls Dr. Mads Gilbert, who is a specialist in emergency medication and a solidarity worker; member of a socialist party ‘Red’.
When the entire Islamic world and the flag bearers of human rights are mum across the globe while; overlooking the genocide that is being carried out in GAZA strip of Palestine state by the advanced and more moral nation like Israel, then the figure like; someone from somewhere; one of the most distant & farthest northern countries like; Norway, endures of the well being of Palestinians through its volunteer in the form of Dr. Mads Gilbert irrespective of his religion & cultural ethics that stands dwarf in front of stature that knows no bounds to go extra step further to support the efforts for the restoration of the humanity in the world’s biggest jail Gaza.
I would like to mention some of his excerpts from his firsthand account & the kind of emotions that he carries over & around GAZA that has been transformed into the killing fields where toddlers / children bodies mark the every milestone in this city of death.
He writes in his open transcript: “The last night was extreme. The “ground invasion” of Gaza resulted in scores and carloads with maimed, torn apart, bleeding, shivering, dying – all sorts of injured Palestinians, all ages, all civilians, all innocent.
The heroes in the ambulances and in all of Gaza’s hospitals are working 12-24hrs shifts, grey from fatigue and inhuman workloads (without payment all in Shifa for the last 4 months), they care, triage, try to understand the incomprehensible chaos of bodies, sizes, limbs, walking, not walking, breathing, not breathing, bleeding, not bleeding humans. HUMANS!
Now, once more treated like animals by “the most moral army in the World” (sic!).
My respect for the wounded is endless, in their contained determination in the midst of pain, agony and shock; my admiration for the staff and volunteers is endless, my closeness to the Palestinian “sumud” gives me strength, although in glimpses I just want to scream, hold someone tight, cry, smell the skin and hair of the warm child, covered in blood, protect ourselves in an endless embrace – but we cannot afford that, nor can they.”
To stand up for humanity one doesn’t need to be religious but just a human. The unfortunate politicization of our world and our lives in particular; has now haunting us the most which has made this world a global village but with different shades of cards packed together with other trying to empowering another.
With 500+ deaths still on count & more than 3000 injured with 50% toll goes off woman and children makes the nerves of any being runs cold that thwart the very survival of his / her instincts.
It would really be interesting to see how the global watch dogs of human rights & protectors of justice uphold the truth and bring the justice to the innocent Palestinians that has always dream with this noble World for their freedom and believe in justifiable two state solution with their Jewish brethren on equal grounds but not with the imposed Zionist ideologue that has now being ruling their fate.
The current massacre and the global silence ridiculed the very core of UN existence & its formation as the sole roof of the justifiable policy maker in the geopolitical arena of this 21st century.
The Oslo Times and its entire organization stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine who have now been sandwiched between the Hamas movement & the Israeli occupational forces which has politicized the every step of their lives and their rights to live in the air of freedom. The Oslo Times News Network appreciates & recognizes the unmatched contributions of Doctor Mads Gilbert who have set the benchmark for today’s humanity & by living up to his fullest Norwegian values of ethics and culture. Wish this World could see more such standings of personalities like him in solidarity & survival of peaceful co-existence of varied human races.
