One killed in explosion in Mali capital Bamako
APRIL 4,BAMAKO: An explosion at a house in Bamako– the capital city of Mali, killed one and left at least two other people injured, authorities said. Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the cause of the incident. Police said the explosives went off after being mishandled.
Mali has seen sporadic assaults from militants activists in spite of a French military intervention in 2013. Extremism and violence is usually in the north,but a month ago five people were killed in an attack on a bar in Bamako. Friday’s blast seriously harmed the property. Security and UN authorities have surrounded the house. According to Interior Ministry spokesman,”we cant talk of a terrorist act at this point”.
