20 Kenyan police officers killed in terror attack 


May 26,Nairobi: Al Shabaab gunmen attacked a village in the eastern part Kenya on Tuesday killing at least 20 Kenyan police officers.The Standard and Daily Nation daily papers said on their sites the officers were killed in Yumbis town, 70 km (45 miles) north of the town of Garissa, on Monday night.  and four of their vehicles were smoldered as they went to the rescue their injured crew when their vehicle hit a landmine. Both papers said 20 officers could have been murdered in the assault.

Police representative Masoud Mwinyi affirmed there had been an assault in Yumbis, yet said more subtle elements would be accessible later. Other government authorities couldn’t promptly be gone after remark.A week ago, al Shabaab shooters assaulted Yumbis and raised their banner on a mosque where they held prayers before making a beeline for another close-by town.

Al Shabaab, which has completed a few assaults in Kenya lately to attempt to compel Nairobi to withdraw its troops from Somalia, attacked a college in the same region a month ago and killed 148 individuals.
